The Mill House Bed & Breakfast Beaulieu in the New Forest
16th Century house beside the Mill Dam in Beaulieu providing traditional Bed and Breakfast (B and B) in the centre of the New Forest
1 double and 2 twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms
The Mill House is one of the oldest houses in Beaulieu and is ideally situated for New Forest visitors. We provide relaxed and comfortable bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation in our family home - we are retired with a grown up family.
The National Motor Museum and Palace House are a short walk across the bridge to our right. To our left is the Montagu Arms Hotel with its bar, restaurant and brassiere (open to non-residents). Beyond the hotel is the village centre with a few shops.
The
house is part of the Beaulieu estate and we consider ourselves very lucky to
live in such a beautiful spot in the New Forest. In front of the house is
the Mill Dam - a large lake surrounded with reeds and grassy banks.
To the rear of the house and overlooked from our breakfast patio is the Beaulieu River which is tidal and provides a beautiful and constantly changing view.
Breakfast can be served in the kitchen, in the "River Room" or on the patio if the weather is fine.
Also at the rear is the old dairy. This octagonal building was built centuries ago for storing milk and butter.
It has now got two preservation listings; as an ancient dairy and also as a pill box - during the second world war its strategic location at the head of the Beaulieu river made it an ideal defensive position!
